Shrinking Threats! (Story)

The story of Carter Noble, an intelligent and innovative man that succeeded in tackling one of the most Earth-threatening…threats!

Carter Keith Noble was born in 2012. He was an “excelsior” in his studies but had many ambitions and ideas since childhood. He is already a business magnate and a civil engineer and did his major in chemical engineering. He is the son of David and Sandy Noble and the younger brother of Sydney Noble. He is the current CEO of Noble Industries where he spends most of working on projects to create roads, bridges, dams, buildings, structural systems, and foundations. He has a wife and two daughters.

On the birth of his 2nd daughter in 2052, the truth dawned on him

As he sat in the waiting room, he looked up at the display as the news channel covered the news story of the day, “Overpopulation up by 6%.” He remembered when he was a little kid when he learned that there were around 8 billion people in the world and that was overpopulation. Now it was 16 billion the last time he checked and in just a year the population rose by 480,000,000 people. Because of the strain and stress being put on the earth, the Earth is doing so well. The news anchors went on to discuss that maybe there should be one-child legislation or birth control but he was disgusted by the idea.

Carter’s guru “Elon Musk ‘’ created the companies Tesla, The Boring Company, and SpaceX and they all did something wonderful. Tesla with its electric cars that prevented climate change growth by a considerable amount. The Boring Company prevented traffic by making roads underground, but SpaceX was the grand one of all. SpaceX is a space transportation services company founded by Elon Musk with the goal of reducing space transportation costs to enable the colonization of Mars. SpaceX and Nasa have both corroborated and Elon has been able to create 2–3 space stations so far.

Idea: People come to inhabit Mars and overpopulation is out of the equation

However, only billionaires of the world have made their mansions in Space stations as of now. and until SpaceX will become available for the whole world, it will be a lifetime long predicted by a Nasa engineer. So everyone else is living in filth and stench straining the Earth. Carter didn’t like that and that’s when it hit him.

He remembered a show he used to watch before it became inappropriate for his age. It was about a group of time travelers fighting bad guys who are ruining history and the future. In that group, there was a hero he used to relate to even today. He used his billions to make a suit that would allow him to shrink and fight and shrink things too.

His idea was that if we were able to shrink ourselves and housing/buildings around us, there would be more space and ultimately less strain on the Earth because we would be using less of that essential resources. At first, this felt like a fantasy. But there were 2 ideas that were on his side;

1. He knew of a private chemical engineering company that was working on that idea of his so all he had to do was buy it.
2. Elon Musk’s grand plans were considered fantasy at first but he showed the world wrong and made it a reality.

After spending three days in the hospital with his family, he instantly set up a meeting with the chemical engineering company to buy it. It only cost 7 billion dollars and that was a great deal for saving the Earth…

3 Months Later

One Day Before I go LIVE

“Dear Diary It’s been 3 months since the birth of Christina and she is wonderful like her older- sister and mom. But it’s also been 3 months since I bought ‘Chand Consolidated.’ Tomorrow I will go live and share my idea with the world. I know I will receive criticism like Elon did with The Boring Company and SpaceX but that’s okay. Now that the idea will be out, more companies will help me venture off and complete this. I need help. Most importantly, the Earth needs help.

I hope I don't make those weird smiles I do on camera. They will remember me with that face. :/”

I frantically walk to the room where I will be interviewed and where I will speak. Don’t get me wrong, I am famously known by the public from my successful projects and from many of my interviews as ‘Fast-Growing Billionaires.’ I am saying all these egotistical things in my head so I feel confident because this interview will be the most important of all.

Fail here, I become a laughing stock. Succeed here, I may gain support from many. There’s totally not a lot on the line…

“I see so many cameras pointed at me. I wished my wife who has been with me all of the time to be with me but she was stuck taking care of the newborn at home.

“Mr. Noble, start smiling because we are going live in the next minute,” the anchorwoman announced. She was rushing to her chair. I guess she was on a timer too lol.

I tried to find humor in that to change up my expression. “Get a hold of yourself man!” I loudly proclaimed in my head.

“We are going to live in 3…2…1!!!”

At first, I felt a bit weak but in the end, I felt like I sang like a canary!
